At SPARK, we are building a city that protects the environment around us, supports the communities where we live and work, and empowers investors for their future by providing a complete eco-system.
The city is intended to be a growth catalyst, and ESG is firmly at the core of our strategy.
SPARK is the first industrial city in the world to obtain LEED Silver Certification, and we are the first entity in the Kingdom and in the region to pioneer the use of multiple cutting-edge technologies, ensuring sustainability remains at the heart of our development. We protect the environment through our participation in several long-standing conservation programs, and through the numerous green construction techniques we are using to build our city. We are proud to highlight here some of our initiatives in this area, starting with the awards and accreditations we have recently won.
Since its approval by the Council of Ministers, SPARK has continually demonstrated its commitment to ESG through an increasing number of initiatives across construction, design and cutting-edge technologies:
SPARK is the first industrial city in the world to obtain Silver level LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification by the US Green Building Council. LEED is the world’s most widely used green building rating system. It provides a framework for healthy, highly efficient, and cost-saving green buildings and is a globally recognized symbol of sustainability achievement and leadership.
King Salman Energy Park (SPARK) has been selected as the project winner for the Cityscape Intelligence KSA Real Estate Award - Tech & Innovation category. SPARK is the first entity to pioneer the use of multiple cutting-edge technologies, ensuring sustainability remains at the heart of SPARK’s development, to continue to be the “first of firsts.”
The first Gold Mostadam project, by the Ministry of Housing's green building rating system in the category of Communities/Design Stage. SPARK has been designed for efficient and sustainable operations in an integrated world-class energy hub. SPARK will be a fully integrated city. It is master planned to seamlessly intertwine an industrial district, dry port and logistics zone, with vibrant residential, educational, and commercial areas.
